Learn Spanish in Aguascalientes, Mexico

The Language Program

Learn Spanish by practice in real-life situations. This is not your typical classroom and textbook Spanish class that you may have had in high school. This concept of the student's total immersion in a Spanish speaking culture is known for its positive results - living the language. The Spanish language school provides students with inten-sive programs at different levels to master all aspects of the Spanish language.

  • Conversation
  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar

Classes are conducted year-round, six hours a day, five days a week. Group classes are limited to six or less students maximum per teacher. Private one-on-one classes are also available. In the private classes, specialized vocabulary for business or technology, for example, can be taught.

Spanish Courses

The courses begin weekly throughout the year. Upon your arrival in school, your Spanish skill level will be determined by personal interview and you will be placed in a group according to your level. Spanish is spoken exclusively in classes. Therefore, if English is not your first language, it is not a problem. Each course will advance through 10 different levels, starting at its very basic for those students with no experience speaking Spanish. Beginning levels include conversation, grammar, reading, and writing. Advanced levels help integrate acquired skills and expand vocabulary. The language lab can be used by the students for individual practice. Grammar exercises use various written materials, as well as group discussions. Dicta-tion is given to improve writing skills.

Benefits of In-country
Language Education

Exposure to Mexican life and culture challenges students to use newly acquired skills in a variety of situations, at school, downtown, cultural events, and on excursions.

After School Activities

Local weekend tours are provided for students wishing to visit local museums and sites of interest, and nearby colonial cities such as Guadalajara, Guanajuato, and Zacatecas. Also, painting and photography classes are offered during the summer months.

About Aguascalientes

Aguascalientes is located in the center of the Republic of México. It is noted for its history, culture, warm climate, and the national fair "Feria de San Marcos," April 14 through May 9. The residents of this city are very friendly and helpful to visitors. Transportation within the city is good and inexpensive. The many cafes (including internet) serve as meeting places for residents, students, and tourists. Mariachi music is offered at some of these cafes.

Academic Credit

Academic credit may be accepted by a number of colleges, universities, and institutions in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe. Check with your college or university regarding academic credit. A course curriculum can be pro-vided if necessary for pre-approval by your institution.

The Language Schools

A choice of small, selected language schools, with personal instructors, are available from which to choose. They are located in Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Puerto Vallarta, and Cuernavaca. The larger international language schools do not provide the personalized attention you require. In addition, the educational background of the teachers is such that they are well informed, not only in language, literature, and culture, but also in politics, religion, economics, history, art, and other subject areas related to Mexico and Latin America.
